Corticosteroid Injections

Enabling You to Feel the Heal

Produced by the adrenal gland, cortisone is a steroid released by the body in response to stress. Trusted since the early 1950s to relieve the inflammation and associated pain of sports injuries and musculoskeletal damage, injectable cortisone is a synthetic version of this effective, natural steroid. At Kayal Orthopaedic Center, Dr. Robert A. Kayal and his team use corticosteroid injection therapy to minimize inflammation, reduce pain and restore function.

In some cases, corticosteroid injections help to bridge the gap between immobility and rehabilitation, allowing patients to participate in physical therapy when they could not previously tolerate it. In other cases, corticosteroid injections may permanently resolve an injury.
