Even Better, Become a Helper Yourself if You Are Able
As we continue to deal with this pandemic, we here at Kayal Orthopaedic Center are reminded of the words of the late minister and children’s television show host Fred Rogers: “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
Although we are best known as the team that provides comprehensive orthopaedic care in this area, including hip replacement surgery in Ridgewood, NJ, and beyond, we are also members of this community. That’s why we have made it our mission to not only look for the helpers but to try as best we can to be helpers ourselves.

As part of this effort, we recently teamed up with Café L’Amore of Oakland to provide $50,000 in meals to The Valley Hospital, Chilton Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center, Hudson Regional Hospital and Patient Care Associates. Our donation is just a small gesture to say thanks to the doctors, nurses, hospital administrators and other staff members on the front lines.
We also are trying to do our part by keeping our doors open—including Saturdays and Sundays—at our Paramus office to help relieve the pressure on local emergency rooms and hospitals. Our Franklin Lakes and Glen Rock offices are open Monday through Friday. All visits are by appointment only. Services we offer include: orthopaedics, spine, rheumatology, pain management, podiatry, physical therapy, chiropractic and diagnostic services, including MRIs, CTs and X-rays.
We All Have a Role to Play
We would like to encourage those in our community to do whatever you can to be helpers, too. From grocery shopping for shut-ins and donating to relief efforts to practicing social distancing and staying home, we all can play an important part in recovery.
In addition to our health care providers, Dr. Robert Kayal and his team are so thankful for the other helpers among us, including:
- Our police officers, emergency medical technicians and firefighters, who also are on the front lines risking their lives to keep us safe and healthy
- Our grocery store clerks, pharmacy workers, truckers, gas station attendants and everyone else working hard to keep us nourished and supplied with the items we need
- President Donald Trump, NJ Gov. Phil Murphy and NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo who are keeping us updated with the information we need to stay safe during their daily news conferences
